France International, Samuel Umtiti, has reportedly told Barcelona that he wants to stay at the club and is willing to see out his current contract.

A knee injury saw him forced out of action, with Clement Lenglet seizing the opportunity to establish himself as a first-team regular alongside Spanish international Gerard Pique.

A number of top teams, including Arsenal and Manchester United, have been tracking Umtiti ahead of a potential summer transfer, but according to “Le Parisien”, Umtiti has told Barcelona that he will not be considering offers from any other clubs this summer.

The 25-year-old is valued between €60m-80m, and has told his representatives that he believes a move away from Barca would be a step down in his career.

He has apparently outlined his ambition of staying at Camp Nou for a number of years and one day becoming captain of the Spanish giants.

Umtiti’s knee problem is apparently fully healed now, though he will need to continue muscle-strengthening exercises on his thigh.
