The Ogun House of Assembly would on Monday commence the appraisal of the 2019 budget performance of Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) in the state.
Mr Deji Adeyemo, the Assembly’s acting Clerk, disclosed this in a statement made available to newsmen in Abeokuta on Friday.
Adeyemo stated that oversight was part of the preparation toward the winding down of the current administration in the state and in line with Sections 128 and 129 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended).
“The Ogun State House of Assembly will on Monday, April 8, commence the appraisal of the year 2019 budget performance.
“The assessment which is meant to access the level of compliance of Ministries, Departments and Agencies in the state with the 2019 Appropriation Law will hold at Room 215 of the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta at 10:00am.
“All Ministries, Departments and Agencies of government are enjoined to adhere strictly to the schedule and make available relevant documents and information to ensure the success of the exercise,” he said.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Mr Olakunle Oluomo, the Deputy Speaker, had during plenary on Tuesday said that it was important for the assembly to carry out assessment of MDAs as the present administration was winding down.
NAN reports that the Assembly had on Dec. 27, 2018 passed the 2019 appropriation bill of N400 billion, cutting off N2.632 billion from the initial N402.63 billion proposed by Gov. Ibikunle Amosun.
