American singer, actress and dancer Jennifer Lopez, is set to receive the Fashion Icon award at the 2019 CFDA holding June 3,hosted at the Brooklyn Museum.
According to the organisation, the honour recognizes Lopez’s longstanding and global impact on fashion.
“Jennifer Lopez uses clothes as a way to express confidence and power. Both designers and fans look forward to her fashion statements,” current CFDA chairwoman Diane Von Furstenberg told the organisation in a statement on Tuesday.
Previous recipients of the Fashion Icon Award include Naomi Campbell, Beyoncé Knowles, Franca Sozzani, Pharrell Williams and Rihanna. Lopez will be the last Fashion Icon to receive this award under Diane von Furstenburg’s tenure as CFDA chairwoman. President and CEO of the CFDA, Steven Kolb, also spoke about Jenny’s fashion style as uninhibited and memorable.
He said: “Jennifer Lopez’s style is bold, uninhibited, and always memorable.”
She’s joined by Bradley Cooper, Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Katy Perry, fiancé Alex Rodriguez and more.
