The government of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire has given orders to destroy thousand tonnes of rice which is said to harmful be dangerous for consumption.
The deadly rice was brought into the country from Myanmar also known as Burma and is presently being destroyed by the officials.
It was said to have been refused at several West African ports in recent weeks including Ghana, Guinea and Togo over quality issues.
The goods were finally unloaded in Abidjan and then tests were done, which showed there was a problem with the rice.
It is now being taken to a landfill site.
