Mr Ogbonna Kalu, the FRSC Sector Commander in the state, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Enugu on Thursday.
Kalu also said that the commission would deploy 443 regular marshals and 119 special marshals in the major roads for the safety of the road users during the festivity.
He also said that one ambulance and one heavy duty tow truck would also be on standby in case of any emergency on the road.
The FRSC boss said that the state government was also assisting the corps with additional ambulances and other equipment for rescue operation.
According to him, the special operation will last from April 18 to 25.
He said: “This is to ensure that those who travelled for Easter celebration would return safely to their various destinations.’’
Kalu further said that the commission was working in partnership with other sister security agencies as a team to achieve a hitch-free celebration.
“The 2019 Special Easter Patrol Operation is focused on infractions, including speeding, overloading, driving without genuine driver’s license and driving without proper light on vehicles,’’ he said.
He said that the organisation had cleared obstructions on the highways to ensure free-flow of traffic and the safety of lives of the road users.
He said that the special patrol would cover Nsukka, Ninth Mile, Ozalla, Awgu and Obollafor, among other areas.
