A former Governor of Kogi State and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris has distilled rumours making the rounds that he has resigned from the PDP and quitted partisan politics. This is contained in a Press Statement issued from his media office and made available to newsmen in Lokoja yesterday.
Idris said although he expressed disatisfaction at irregularities and the introduction of widespread state violence during the recent general elections in Kogi State he never withdrew his membership of the PDP and urged people to disregard the claims as antics of his distractors.
The former Governor noted that his call into politics is not for selfish aggrandizement but has always been for the pursuit of common good for the greatest number of the masses. He called on members of the PDP and all well meaning Kogites to join in the ardous task of enthroning people centred leadership in Kogi State.
People should not dispair over the state of affairs in our state. Rather they should look up to God and remain resolute on the choices before us come November. We all must join hands to rescue Kogi and restore its glory.
