Embattled Korean Air CEO, Cho Yang-ho, dies at 70

Founder of the SkyTeam airline Cho Yang-ho has died in Los Angeles few weeks after leaving the company.
Cho Yang-ho, who died on Sunday April 7 at the age of 70, was the man who helped turn Korean Air into a global powerhouse , Korean Air said in a statement on Monday.
He took over as chairman and CEO of Korean Air from his father in 1999.
Cho was also head of Korean Air parent company Hanjin Group, one of South Korea’s sprawling family-run conglomerates.
In more recent years, Cho made headlines for all the wrong reasons. Weeks before his death, Cho was removed and was on trial over charges of embezzlement and breach of trust.
He denied the charges against him.
Cho’s wife, Lee Myung-hee, is currently facing criminal charges for allegedly physically and verbally abusing her staff.
