President of Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, has urged the private sector to increase education tax to 3 per cent.
The tax is currently 2 per cent.
Dangote said, by so doing, the country would be able to address the infrastructural and other problems facing its educational institutions.
The richest man in Africa made this known at the weekend during the unveiling of a high-capacity hostel he built at the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Kaduna State.
The project gulped N1.2bn.
Dangote was roundly commended by various stakeholders, including the state Governor, Nasir El-Rufai.
