All is now set for the burial of old comedian, Ola Omonitan, popularly called Ajimajasan.
The comedian passed on last October, not long after one of his contemporaries, Moses Olaiya, aka Baba Sala, died.
According to the funeral programme released by Omonitan’s family, there will be lying in state at the Cultural Centre, Ibadan, at 12 pm; and later at the NTA, Agodi, 2 pm.
The Christian wake will hold in the evening at the Liberty Stadium.
On Friday, a church service at C. A. C., Olugbode, Apata, Ibadan, will herald internment at Aba Ilori, in the Gbekuba area of the city.
Reception will hold at the Liberty Stadium, Ibadan.
Ajimajasan was a comedian who participated in many stage plays and movies, especially before the Nollywood era that started in the early 19
He was popular on TV and radio in the 70s and 80s, including when the likes of the late Jacob, Aderupoko and Papalolo used to work with him before they formed their own troupe – Jesters International.
Although Ajimajasan also produced TVseries/films such as Araye Le”, “Bata Wahala” and “Ogun L’aye”, he was slowed dwon by a protracted ailment at a point, with the comedian later revealing that he had prostate cancer.
But he was said to have died of kidney-related disease.
