As residents grow nervous with signs of scarcity, the Nigerian Ports Authority has said that nine ships carrying Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) have arrived Apapa and Tin-Can Island ports waiting to berth.
The scare coincides with the IMF’s advice to the Federal Government to remove subsidy on petrol, a hint that is creating another fear on the part of the polity.
Several filling stations said they did not have fuel on Thursday while queues had begun to manifest in those that had the product.
But the NPA said on Friday that, apart from those that have landed with petrol, 30 ships carrying buckwheat, frozen fish, container, base oil, general cargo and petrol were expected at the ports between April 12 and April. 28
