It is now official. The next Lagos State governor is Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
He has been declared winner by the Independent Electoral Commission, having polled 739, 445 while his closest rival, Jimi Agbaje of the Peoples Democratic Party, scored 206,141.
Sanwo-Olu, a former Commissioner for Transport, can now officially prepare towards succeeding the incumbent, Akinwunmi Ambode, on May 29, in a state that is not only strategic to the development of Nigerian nationhood, but is also facing major dynamics of multiculturalism.
