A teenage motorcyclist, David Ishola, is to spend the next three months in jail for stealing a motorcycle given to him on hire purchase, an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court held on Wednesday.
Ishola had pleaded guilty to a two-count of conspiracy and stealing.
Magistrate A.I. Abina, who handed down the verdict, convicted the teenager based on his plea and the facts of the case.
Abina, however, granted the convict an option of N 5,000 fine.
Earlier,the Prosecutor Sgt. Ishola Samuel, told the court that the teenager committed the theft on Nov. 25, 2018, at Alagbado, Lagos.
Samuel said the convict conspired with others still at large to steal the motorcycle with registration number JGB 533 VF from one Mr Evans Hamson.
“The complainant gave the defendant the motorcycle on hire purchase for N350, 000, with an agreement that he would be remitting N1,500 daily.
“The defendant absconded with the motorcycle to Sarki in Oyo State where he sold it to an unknown person.
Stealing contravened Sections 411, and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.
