The Chairman of Marketing Mix, Mr. Akin Adeoya, is demonstrating his excitement as his marriage to his darling wife, Abosede ‘Flo’, clocked 10 on March 14.
In this era when marriages appear more threatened than ever, Adeoya, who is also the CEO of Lagos-based hotels that include Hotel 1960, Ikeja and Prince of Anthony in Anthony Village, sees some victory in his journey with Flo, even as he reveals that he and his wife have had to make great sacrifices at some moments.
He notes in a Facebook post that many people did not give him a chance as they believe he would not be able to stay in matrimony.
He explains, “Today my marriage with my darling wife, Abosede “Flo” Adeoya, is 10 years old. I am not deeply interested in celebrating anniversaries, birthdays and all that. But I am particularly happy about this one. My wife and I chatted about it this morning and I looked at her very carefully. Yes, she is very happy in my house and I am very content under her ‘management.’
“Now, many people didn’t think I could be a good husband. So, when I finally got married at 40+ there were all kinds of permutations, from 3 months length of marriage to 3 years. It didn’t help matters when less than 12 months into the marriage she had to jet out to London for over a year for a postgraduate programme at Middlesex. The grapevine went wild. Well, to the shame of all evil prophets she returned into my waiting arms.
We both have human failings but I think we both understand what it takes to build a home that lasts despite some big katakatas.
