The people of Rumuagholu in the Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State witnessed a rare tragedy recently when a invaded a nursery school and bit a pupil to death.
The boy, Emmanuel David, was said to have died in a hospital he was rushed to.
Reports say the owner of the dog is out of the country but left the dog in the care of his security guard.
“The dog wandered out of the building and stormed the school which was closeby and had no fence. As the pupils ran to safety, the dog pounced on Emmanuel and bit him. He was rushed to a hospital where he was pronounced dead by a doctor. Another student also sustained serious injury during the attack,” Linda Ikeji reports, adding that angry residents of the area stoned the dog to death.
Spokesperosn of the state police command, Nnamdi Omoni, was quoted to have said the matter was under investigation.
