The candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, Bala Muhammed, has been declared winner of the Bauchi State governorship election.
He defeated the incumbent Governor, Mohammed Abubakar, of the All Progressives Congress.
The Returning Officer, Prof. Kyari Mohammed, said Mohammed polled a total of 515,113 votes to defeat Gov. Abubakar who got 500,625 votes.
The result came after the Independent Electoral Commission completed the collation of the results of the election in the state, after an attempt to stop the process in court had failed.
