The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, said on Thursday that Michael Pompeo, the United States secretary, had a phone conversation with him on Friday.
Although he did not give details of their discussion, he tweeted, “Earlier today I received a call from US Secretary of State, @SecPompeo, who reaffirmed the international community’s commitment to free and fair elections in Nigeria. Wishing you all a peaceful elections, wherever you are. God bless Nigeria.”
