Several soccer giants the world over have been paying tribute to Argentine striker, Emiliano Sala, who has now been officially confirmed dead.
Coroners had confirmed the body found in the wreckage of the plane that was conveying him to Cardiff to be his, igniting emotions and glowing words.
The Super Eagles, on Twitter, said, “We join the rest of the footballing world to mourn the passing of Emiliano Sala. Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Emiliano Sala and all those at Cardiff City FC and FC Nantes.”
Among the stars that have also saluted him are Mesut Ozil, who said there was no words to describe how sad the development was.
“Thoughts and prayers go out to his family and also to the family of the pilot,” he said.
Leicester striker, Jamie Vardy, has added his name to the list of those paying tribute to Sala via his official twitter handle, @vardy7.
Wayne Rooney posted a tribute on Twitter, alongside a picture of Sala, noting: “Rest in peace Emiliano Sala. Thoughts are with friends & family.”
David, Meams, leader of the private search team that discovered Sala’s body equally tweeted, “Rest in Peace Emiliano. I was glad to provide some small comfort to Romina, Mercedes and the whole Sala family during the past two weeks but my heart goes out to the family and friends of David Ibbotson whose loss is the same.”
