Two siblings killed in Rivers State

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, Mr. Mowan Owo-Ete, who is a two-term Chairman of Andoni Local Government Area, the council of National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus, was shot dead on Saturday morning by political thugs in his house in Asarama, Andoni LGA, along with his elder brother.

According to ‘The nation’, Owo-Ete, also a former Vice-Chairman of the PDP in Rivers state and ex-Special Adviser to Governor Nyesom Wike on Political Affairs, recently defected to the APC.

The APC chieftain (Owo-Ete) narrowly escaped being assassinated last weekend, before the February 16 elections were postponed.

Rivers PPRO, Nnamdi Omoni, DSP, confirmed through the telephone, the death of the top politician and his elder brother, but he said the detail was still sketchy, as at press time.
