Contrary to an initial report, popular Edo politician, Patrick Obahiagbon, has lost the bid to return to the National Assembly.
He lost Saturday’s senatorial election to Matthew Urhoghide of the People’s Democratic Party.
According to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Returning Officer in charge of Edo, Prof. Joseph Osemwenkha, Urhoghide polled 135,588 while Obahiagbon who scored 121,957.
The defeated senator is famous for verbosity, loading his speeches with unfamiliar words that amuse many rather than enlighten them.
