A man called Galus has reportedly been caught with already prepared result sheets showing that the state’s chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party won in Abia State in the now postponed Saturday February 16 elections.
The state chairman of All Progressives Grand Alliance, Rev. Augustine Ehiemere, made the allegation in a statement on Sunday in Umuahia, Abia State capital, at the governorship campaign office of Dr. Alex Otti.
While the PDP in the state has, however, described the story as a lie, the state police command said it had not got any report to that effect.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Ehimere said the party in the state “received the polls postponement with shock and great disappointment.”
Reacting, the Publicity Secretary of PDP in the state, Don Ubani, dismissed the allegations as “blatant lies from the pit of hell.”
Ubani said that “PDP never contemplated such a heinous plot,” pointing out that APGA had only exposed what it intended to do to rig the polls.
