Dapo Abiodun strikes deal with Ogun pensioners

As the governorship election draws near, the pensioners  in Ogun State have pledged their support for the candidacy of the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prince Dapo Abiodun.
The pensioners under the auspice of the Nigeria Union of Pensioners (NUP), Ogun State chapter, also lamented their poor treatment by the current administration, saying  they  were tired of empty promises of Governor Ibikunle Amosun.
According to CityVoice, they made this known while hosting Abiodun in Abeokuta, the state capital today.
While speaking, the State chairman of the Union, Comrade  Kessington Oduwole during his address, assured that the union would mobilise and canvass for the APC.
He said that he would inform his members that Abiodun had been known to him from childhood and his father is also a member of the  pensioners union hence he would bring succour to them as well as addressed their demands.
 His words ‘He will bring succour to the retires in the State by addressing all our demands. Dapo Abiodun is someone we have known from childhood. His parents are also Pensioners and are well known to us. I want to assure you that all our wants and needs will be met when he becomes the governor”.
He added “I hereby implore you all to rally round him and mobilise for him during the poll. I am promising you that he will not let us down. By the special grace of God, we shall accompany him to Oke Mosan by May 29th during his swearing-in as  governor.”
A former governor, Chief Olusegun Osoba who accompanied the candidateo the meeting, expressed shock that the pensioners who were classified as senior citizens could be owed that much, promising them succour from the next APC government in the state if elected.
 Abiodun while responding, promised to operate a listening government, if voted for.
He stated  ” I want to appreciate our fathers and mothers who have worked tirelessly for the service of this State. My parents who were both teachers are also Pensioners.
The Pensioners are informed electorates that have influence within their communities and i want to express gratitude for their support.”
