I’m sick. I can’t stand up – Melaye tells police

Although the Nigerian police are eager to see Senator Dino Melaye quickly face trial for alleged participation in attack on a policeman, he has said that his health cannot support that now.
The Police alleged that he committed the offences on 19th July 2018 with his armed thugs who attacked Police personnel, shot and wounded SGT Danjuma Saliu on stop and search duty along Aiyetoro Gbede, Mopa Road in Kogi State.
When Police operatives arrived to pick Melaye, after spending some three days in the police hospital in Abuja, he reportedly said he was sick and unable to stand up.
