The Babajide Sanwo-Olu candidacy in Lagos State is daily garnering support as the Lagos State Commissioner for Home Affairs, Dr. AbdulHakeem AbdulLateef, has said Governor Akinwumi Ambode and the entire Lagos State cabinet are fully in support of the All Progressives Congress ,(APC), governorship candidate.
“The entire state cabinet is fully with Sanwo-olu. As the Director, Conflict Resolution of Babajide Sanwo-olu Independent Campaign Organisation, I am using this opportunity to call on all party members to ensure that they reconcile their differences. Understand that powers and authority are in the hands of God. We must work together,” he said.
AbdulLateef made this known at the Ikotun-Ejigbo area when many supporters and members of the Itesiwaju Foundation gathered to celebrate one year anniversary of the foundation, ahead of the 2019 general election.
He noted that the impression being created in some quarters that some members of the Lagos cabinet were working jeopardise the chances of the APC and its candidate in winning election was wrong .
The commissioner said the foundation, which he established, had a primary aim of making sure all residents of the area vote massively for APC in the 2019 general elections.
AbdulLateef said though one member out of the Lagos State cabinet recently left government, the rest of the cabinet were solidly behind Sanwo-olu in the next election, urging party members to reconcile their differences.
He added, ‘If anybody says I want to vote for only Buhari and not vote for others on the platform of the APC, then you have not voted for Buhari. Today, the greatest problem of the Federal government is the uncoordinated attitude of the National Assembly .We need a National Assembly that would be on the same page with the Federal Executive Council to move the country forward.
“Apart from that, if you vote for Sanwo-olu and you do not vote for members of APC for the House of Assembly, you have not voted for Sanwo-Olu because the legislature is the apex institution and the most important arm of government. In fact it represents the people in the 40 constituencies of Lagos.’
