This is a tough time for Nigerians planning to travel to the United States as its embassy in Abuja and consulate in Lagos have been shut.
According to the US authorities in Nigeria, this is in consonance with the government shutdown going on in the US.
They note in a Facebook message, ““Due to the current US government shutdown, the American centres located in the embassy, Abuja and Consulate-General, Lagos are unfortunately closed. They will re-open once the US government shutdown is resolved. Sorry for any inconvenience to our valued patrons.”
