Traffic wakes up too early on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway

The desire of many motorists to beat traffic on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway today (Saturday morning) failed woefully as the demon hit the road earlier than many of them.

From as early as 6 am, the Magboro-Ibafo end of the notorious route had become messy, leaving many commuters stranded.

The situation  was compounded by a tanker accident that occurred in the Kara area on Friday, which kept many stuck while others were forced to postpone their trips till today.

Such people felt that the wise thing was to hit the road at the earliest possible time but the traffic has proved wiser and too demonic for their plan.

While the hiccup that built towards Ibadan largely expires in the Aseese axis, where snail-pacing Julius Berger blocked a section of the lane, going to Ibadan is a huge hell because the traffic raging on the side, peaking at the MFM side, extends to as far as Mowe.

The Redeemed area is, however, surprisingly free on both sides.
