Living in Ibafo, turning in Mowe

Relief returned to the Wawa-Mowe end of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway this week as Julius Berger removed barriers from most parts.

Before this was done on the order of the Federal Government, motorists suffered gridlock day and night.

But they have been enjoying relative peace even as the Yuletide and the  New Year draw closer.

For residents of Ibafo, however, it seems to be a different kettle of fish.

The reason is that car owners among them woke up to the shock that an opening in front of the police station there where they used to turn right and left has been blocked.

The implication is that those going to Lagos have to travel as far as Deeper Life near Mowe before they can turn.

This is about 10 minutes’ drive if there is no traffic and far worse if there is.

Residents who spoke with phenomenallagos expressed the sadness that a town as big as Ibafo does not have a u-turn of its own.
