The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Lagos State, Mr. Jimi Agbaje, has continued to throw jabs at those he believes are standing between him and his dream.
Some comments he made on Twitter this morning showed that he has not forgiven the Oba of Lagos, HRM Rilwan Akiolu, over the role he believes he played during the last election.
Apparently playing the Yoruba/Igbo card, he made reference to a controversial statement made by the Oba in 2015: “Jimi is my blood relation, and I told him he can never be Governor in Lagos now and if you [the crowd] do what I want then Lagos will continue to be prosperous for you, if you go against this you will be banished to the water! Finished!”
He said Yorubas or Lagos did not hate Igbos, but ‘the political establishment’ did.
Also, Agbaje sought to shatter all the claims and promises that his opponent Babajide Sanwo-Olu of APC has made.
While restating that Lagos was under bondage, he noted that the internet package Sanwo-Olu promised was not what the people were hungry for.
Besides, he predicted chaos in the relationship between Sanwo-Olu and his running mate, Obafemi Hamzat, if they eventually won.
“The two governors wrapped in one as presented by you is an elixir for anarchy in governance. You were billed to be Obafemi Hamzat’s Chief of Staff in his attempt to run for office in 2014. He cannot and will not truly see himself as your deputy.”.
