An Ebute Meta, Lagos-based family has asked the Inspector-General of Police, Idris Ibrahim, to investigate the demolition of their house in the area.

The Ogunyindes said the building was demolished by about 40 thugs.

The report added, “The complainants – Mrs. Bukola Akeredolu, Mr. Olusegun Olawunmi and Mrs. Feyishade Saula – petitioned the IGP through their lawyer, Mr. Olaniyi Kareem.

“They said the bungalow and boys quarters at 38, Babani Street, Ebute-Meta West, is the subject of a suit between them and four others before Justice Kazeem Alogba of the Lagos High Court. The defendants are Mr. Michael Adebisi Ogunyinde, Mr. Tolulope David Ogunyinde, Mrs. Oluwaseun Busayo Akindele, Lookman Muhammed Owoegbe and the Probate Registrar, Lagos State High Court.

“The complainants, in a December 3 letter, to the IGP, said the thugs forcibly entered the property, assaulted the occupants and threatened to kill them before demolishing the place and carting away valuables.”
