Gunmen strike in Bola Ige’s hometown

The relative serenity that Esa Oke, in the Obokun Local Government Area of Osun State, used to enjoy was threatened on Tuesday when some gunmen struck in the hometown of a former Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, the late Chief Bola Ige.
An employee of the Osun State College of Technology, identified as Olaniyi, was said to have lost his life while some people are said to have been kidnapped.
Besides, many said to have scampered into the bush for safety have yet to return home, according to reports.
Authorities of the institution confirmed the incident although the police have yet to speak on it.
The Director, Media and PR, Osun State College of Technology, Prince Wale Oyekanmi, said in a statement, “There was an attack on Esa-Oke Road this evening after close of work; the list of staff members of Osun State College of Technology still being held in the bush by the kidnappers are Mr Olaleye Olalekan (Bus. Admin. Department); Adeyeoluwa Bankole (HOD Civil Engineering); Dr Jesuola Ajibola (Director Ventures); 4. Adenreti Chukwu (Secretary to Civil Engineering Department); Olaniyi Emmanuel Temitope (Registry staff member (died on the spot) and Rachael Onyinocha Akinboboye, (OSCOTECH Microfinance Bank).”
