Traffic eased on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Tuesday as Julius Berger obeyed an instruction given by the Federal Ministry of Power, Works and Housing.
Motorists and commuters had, in recent times, been experiencing hell on the Wawa-Mowe axis of the road due to road cuts effected by the firm.
But there was relative sanity on Tuesday, with the Ogun State Command of the Federal Road Safety Commission joining hands with government and Berger to monitor the situation.
The construction company is also patching bad portions, thus further reducing head ache suffered by users.
Speaking on their involvement, Mr Clement Oladele, the Ogun State Sector Commander of the FRSC, told the News Agency of Nigeria there was a brief ceremony to remove the barriers earlier erected for the reconstruction of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway around Oremeji/Asese, up to Mowe.
He said, “This is to enable traffic flow unhindered during this year’s yuletide special patrol operations and alleviate the pains and discomfort that many motorists will experience on the axis during the period.”
