Boat tragedy: 19 children die in Kwara

Tragedy struck in Kwara State on Saturday when a boat carrying 22 people drowned.
Nineteen of the victims are said to be pupils.
This was said to have taken place in the Lafiagi Edu Local Government Area of the state.
A source is quoted as saying, “As of yesterday evening, four corpses had been recovered from the river. Efforts will resume today to ensure that others are also found. Both men of the Nigeria police and the state fire service were there yesterday in the rescue mission. Unfortunately only two of them survived.”
The remains of those bodies that have been recovered have been deposited in the morgue while efforts are still ongoing to recover the bodies of those still in the river.
