Remains of former Head of State, Alhaji Sheu Shagari, have been buried in line with Islamic culture and modest life he led.
Beyond comforting himself in his typical Shagari-style flying babaringa and towering cap, Shagari never indulged in verbose living.
Unlike some past presidents who flaunted mansions and continue to breathe heavily on the polity, Shagari led a quite and austere life after he left office in December 23.
The body of the one-time teacher, who died on Friday, was buried in his private residence in his hometown, Shagari Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
He was buried at exactly 3.30pm after the funeral prayers led by Professor Shehu Galadanchi, former Vice-Chancellor, Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto.
In attendance were dignitaries such Secretary to the Federal Government, Boss Mustapha, who led the Federal Government delegation, and governors of Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara states.
Others were Attahiru Bafarawa, former Independent National Electoral Commission chairman, Professor Attahiru Jega, Waziri Sokoto, Professor Junaid Walk, Senator Aliyu Wamakko.
