Comic and highly industrious actress, Funke Akindele, may have emerged the Queen of Instagram among Nigerian entertainers as she has more followers than other top contenders like Genevieve Nnaji and Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde.

Like their counterparts in other parts of the world, many Nigerian celebrities are active on Instagram and other social media platforms.

But the creator and Executive Producer of ‘Jenifa’s Diary’ towers clearly.

The actress married to  a producer, Abdulraheed Bello, commands 5.8 million followers on Instagram, beating Genevieve to 4. 3m and Omotola, 3m followers.

Interestingly, Mercy Aigbe is also up there, commanding 4 million followers on Instagram.

Ini Edo has 4.5m; Tonto Dike 3.5; and Chika Ike has 2.3m.

There are indications that Funke’s TV comic drama series, ‘Jenifa’s Diary’, has contributed immensely to the growth of her fan base.
