The days of the National Theatre appears numbered as a national iconic institution.
The recent pronouncement by the Federal Government that they have been listed for sale to generate money has left many stakeholders rattled. But, unlike in the past when artists and culture activists used to kick against proposed sale of the monuments, especially the theatre, nothing is coming in the form of protest.
Are the artists tired, frustrated or happy?
Only time will tell.
One thing that is not yet clear about the TBS is its current status. Is it not under concession? Will the FG sell it in spite of the concession arrangement made during the Obasanjo era?
