More Lagosians who like theatrical shows now have more opportunity to
see such as some new major and mini theatres have opened.
While the five theatres that the Ambode government promised to build
are still being expected, Ayo Jaiyesinmi of the Thespian FamilyTheatre
fame has built one in Lekki.
So also is Segun Adeffila, founder and director of wave-making Crown
Troupe of Africa, who now has a centre in the Bariga area of Lagos.
Earlier, theatre practitioners, Bolanle Austen-Peters and Wole
Oguntokun had established full-fledged facilities that have been
filling the gap created by the affliction that has continued to be the
lot of the National Theatre in Iganmu, Surulere.
