Restructuring: Ambode confronts Senate with radical options

A committee of The Senate, who are working on constitutional amendment, may have met more than what they bargained for when they held a session in Lagos at the weekend.
The state Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, did not mince words when he presented a position at the session.
Although the governor accorded the NASS team led by Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekeremadu, a warm reception, he sought changes that many would consider radical if not revolutionary.
First, Ambode wants local government to be removed from revenue allocation structure as he believes the tier should be under the purview of state government. Second, he wants the NYSC and land use act to be out of the constitution.
These are apart from the issues of state policing and restructuring of revenue formular that is greedily in favour of the Federal Government.
