Afro juju star, Sir Shina Peters, proved that he is still an artiste to reckon with on Saturday, when he headlined the African Movie Academy Awards 2017.
At the Eko Hotels, Victoria Island, Lagos, where the event was held, he started his performance with a teaser that ushered in the biggest award – AMAA Movie of the Year. It was when he returned after the announcement of the winners in all categories that he practically set the stage ablaze, bringing back the fervour that accompanied his evergreen album, ACE.
In the process, stars that included Kunle Afolayan, Fred Amata and AY joined him on stage to dance out their hearts. Osita Iheme, one in the Aki and Pawpaw pair stars, also sought an adventure on stage. It was in the process that SSP lined up his suave and temptingly dancing girls before the actor and asked him to pick one.
AMAA 2017 had in attendance stars from different parts of the world, with the host state also identifying with it.
The Deputy Governor, Dr. Idiat Adebule, who represented Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, celebrated with the film-makers, in company of government officials that included the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Steve Ayorinde.
